Year-End Corporate Event Catering in Singapore: A Planning Guide

Quick answer:
Match the format to the event: bento for town halls, a mini buffet or full buffet for appreciation lunches, and a tea reception for networking. Book 3 to 4 weeks ahead for November and December dates, lock your headcount 5 to 7 working days before the event, and budget for delivery on top of the per-person price.

Match the Format to Your Year-End Event

Compare all three in our mini buffet vs full buffet vs bento comparison.

•             Year-end town halls and reviews: Bento catering keeps a timed programme on schedule, as every guest receives an individually packed meal. Orders start from 20 boxes.

•             Team appreciation lunches: A mini buffet suits small teams of 8 to 10, while a full buffet with setup works for 20 guests and above.

•             Networking sessions and open houses: A tea reception lets guests eat while they mingle, from 30 guests.

Book Earlier Than Usual

November and December are peak months for corporate catering in Singapore. Regular orders need 5 to 7 working days, but for year-end dates, book 3 to 4 weeks ahead.

Once the date is set, confirm your menu and headcount 5 to 7 working days before the event. Changes to menu, timing and numbers must be confirmed at least 3 working days ahead, and no amendments are accepted within 24 hours.

Plan for Headcount and Space

December is leave season, so RSVPs often shift. Update your estimate as confirmations come in, order for 90 to 100 percent of confirmed guests, and lock the final number before the cut-off.

Headcount also affects your space. One buffet counter serves up to 99 guests, and two are needed from 100 guests. Buffets are delivered 30 to 60 minutes before serving time and collected two hours after, so check that the counter fits and that guests can queue without blocking the room. If your venue has loading or lift access restrictions, mention them when you order, as surcharges may apply.

Budget for the Full Cost

Corporate menus start from S$9 per pax for bento, S$7.50 per pax for tea reception and S$14 per pax for buffet. Delivery is S$80 for buffets and tea receptions and S$50 for mini buffets and bento, with free delivery on buffet orders above S$1,000 before GST. CBD and Orchard postcodes carry a S$10 surcharge.
